Jose Manuel Pérez, enologist and technical director of Bodegas Hnos. Pérez Pascuas, together with his father, Benjamín Pérez Pascuas, explained to the visitors why the farming and the winemaking technique are so different at Viña Pedrosa.

“Always the greatest wines must reflect the character and the personality from the land where they come from, this is the most important point for us” said Benjamín Pérez.

He showed the family vineyard, in total 135 hectares where Tempranillo grape variety is over than 90% of the plantation.

“We are privileged people, our land has been so generous to us, It provides excellent grapes, and we have to preserve it the best way possible” said the eldest brother.

Once in the winery, the barrel ageing process awakened great interest. “ At present Bodegas Hnos. Pérez Pascuas has 3.300 oak barrels, half American oak and half French oak. All those barrels will be used just for three years” declared José  Manuel.

The perfect match between tradition and innovation at Bodegas Hnos. Pérez Pascuas really attract attention of American professionals. “ On one side, we find a historic legacy perfectly preserved, and on the other side, the latest scientific advances, and the result is incredibly good” said the visitors.

Once vineyard and winery tour finished, the wine tasting started. Viña Pedrosa Gran Reserva and Pérez Pascuas Gran Selección were the wines most praised, the winners. “ Both of them are sublime and exclusive wines, they are made to provide highest enjoyment to the most demanding and refined palates.” said Pérez Ovejas.

“ Cepa Gavilán, Viña Pedrosa Crianza, Finca La Navilla, … all of them are really well-balnced wines, excellent harmony, and for us this is one of the best attributes if we talk about wine” stated the visitors at the end of the tasting.

Benjamín Pérez Pascuas together with his son José Manuel said good bye to wine professionals, being their wish to increase the interest of American wine  lovers to Viña Pedrosa wines.
