VIÑA PEDROSA RESERVA 2009, THE BEST WINE FROM RIBERA DEL DUERO IN SWITZERLAND AND GERMANY

VINUM, the most important wine magazine in Germany and Switzerland and with a great influence in the rest of Europe, has just published an article about the Ribera del Duero in its Jan/Feb 2014 issue. The prestigious wine writer Thomas Vaterlaus makes a complete description of the Ribera del Duero remarking that in this area there are made some of the most expressive and exclusive wines of Spain, such as our Pérez Pascuas Gran Selección, Vega Sicilia, Pingus and Pesus.

In the same article, the tasting panel of VINUM formed by Vaterlaus, Dominik Vombach and Ursula Geiger, has published an extensive tasting of wines of Ribera del Duero. In this tasting, Vina Pedrosa Reserva 2009 gets a unique 17 / 20 points, being the best rated wine out of a total of 123 wines tasted.

The tasting panel agrees that it is a pity there are no more wines like Vina Pedrosa Reserva 2009, as it represents perfectly the style and identity that have made over the last decade this wine making region the flagship of the Iberian Peninsula.

The winemaker of Viña Pedrosa, José Manuel Pérez  shows his satisfaction as the tasting panel has valued very positively its “traditional style- in the best meaning of the words” and its “elegance, acidity and balanced roast aromas”.

Fresh bouquet with discrete roasted aromas, cassis and fine notes of strawberry.
